the call of happiness

The Dean of Arts and Sciences (Dean Stahl, as I call her) at Wash U just called me. I was in the shower, but my mother forced me to take the call - grrr (seriously, who would do that? making a person take phone calls when they are in the shower?!! .NO. )

But anyway, she wanted to know how I was feeling about colleges and whether I have decided yet. Out of my simple mind I said straightforwardly “ummm I’ve already finished my Housing forms, but haven’t mailed them yet” and then started slapping myself for being retarded (again v.v). Dean Stahl sounded really happy, which in turn made me really happy too ^^

It’s good to know that someone there care about me and want me to go there so much that she checks up on me once in a while. Dean Stahl is such a warm person - she is like the perfect grandmother figure, and talking to her makes me miss my grandmother (who is in China).

So it turns out, we the Danforth scholars (probably going to be around 20) are going to Camp Miniwanka, on Lake Michigan I believe from August 15-20, and we move in on the 20th, a day before the rest of incoming freshmen move in, so that there will be less people (they REALLY care about us, it fills my heart with happiness ^^). GUESS WHAT AUGUST 20TH IS? IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! I’ll be moving into my college dorm on my birthday! Isn’t that something? ^^

I am excited, now need to think about all the things I’ll need for my dorm. Any suggestions on what I need to buy? I need a list:

1. Little lamp
2. Mini-refrigerator
3. Microwave
4. Bedding! (thanks to Ivy!)
5. SJ lovables (thanks to Krazim!)
6. Towels

When I was at WUSTL over the weekend, My host had a lot of posters & artwork on her walls - maybe I should get something similar? Where are posters sold anyway?

BTW, SNUGGLES is the BEST fabric softener EVER. ^^

Ooo so much excitement for the new changes in your life. I wish you the best of luck. I think you should first meet your dorm-mate and decide who should bring what because it’s quite a small space to be having 2 microwaves and 2 mini fridge. =]

4 - Beddings! Even if your dorm provides beddings, it wouldn’t feel as homely without them. All the best with your freshmen year. :)

Great, great birthday present, Anna… *takes note of Anna’s birthday* // I should suggest SuJu lovables to hang around to make your dorm look nice. *-* And that’s awesome about the call… but weird about your mother. I swear, my mother comes in (even when the door is locked!) when I’m taking a shower. That woman has some magical powers, Anna. I swear. o.o;; But I’m glad I go to high school where it’s too early for anyone in the house to wake up. >D I even dropped something on accident that was really loud. No one noticed. *dances* XD

Krazim - or she just has the keys ^^ SJ lovables! I’ve added that to the list. SJ posters are so expensive though and you have to order them online right? I wish I can buy them in Chicago Chinatown or something T_T

It definitely IS nice to have someone want you to come to their college. I don’t think I will ever have that luxury. Wow… you’re going to be having a pretty big birthday move then!
