houndstock 2008/hollywood bowl

Filed under Life, Pointless

TODAY. MAY 17TH, 2008. SATURDAY. Is Houndstock 2008 and Hollywood Bowl.

Houndstock is an annual music event at my high school in which all the student bands come out and play. There are also booths set up all around the area with clubs promoting themselves and doing fund raisers. This year, my club, International Children’s Society, did a fund raiser at a booth for the earthquake victims in China. We sold 70 bottles of water and some chocolate bars (leftovers from another fund raiser, but you didn’t need to know that XD), all for $1 each. The result? We made $105.68 XDDD I didn’t even know you could make that much money just off water and some chocolate. So adding in this fund raiser, I think our club has raised almost $2,000 this year again (we raised $1,800 last year), and all of it will go toward emergency relief for the earthquake victims in southwestern China and surrounding countries.

The event itself is actually not all that interesting - it’s a lot of bands playing…and that’s about it. Which was why I left in the middle of it with my friend to eat at Chipotle and then came home to check up on news regarding Hollywood Bowl (concert in LA in which Super Junior is performing! And DBSK! And Ok Ju Hyun! And SG Wannabe!), but ended up watching an hour and a half of Super Junior videos and Xman couple selections. A ton of my LJ friends were flying over to LA to attend the concert, and some of them actually met face to face with Leeteuk/Sungmin/Yesung/etc. *so envious* One of them was even in the same elevator as Leeteuk. I was talking about what would happen if I am in an elevator with Eunhyuk - probably start hyperventilating and yell “EUNHYUK I NEED MOUTH-TO-MOUTH NOW!” But that would only work if we were the only two in the elevator…since I wouldn’t want his manager hyung giving me CPR XD

Anyway, photos from Houndstock:

I made this poster! It’s our “please donate” sign. Can you see how I messed up the word “China” and had to draw a sun out of a letter? XD

“SAVE THE CHILDREN” in the recent earthquake!

Jinny and her two friends at our booth. Don’t you love the big truck behind them? XD

This is so funny that I had to take a picture. A club did a Sumo-wrestling booth, where for $5 you and a friend can get into a sumo wrestler fat suit and wrestle for a match XD

YAHHH for people actually starting to buy things! There I am standing off to the left, looking kind of bored =_=;;

    It looks fun. Large events like these with lots of friends are always fun. :) But in the second to last photo do you mean “standing off to the left” instead?

    OMFG, I read some stuff about fans stalking DBSK to their hotel rooms, some fans actually got backstage and talked to ‘em. Gaaaah… and some fans who were on the same floor as DBSK at a hotel. Gah. OMG. Makes me wanna scream. T-T I would’ve stalked SuJu-T. XD *imagines being stuck in the elevator with Kyu* I’ll try to play it cool? XD Yeah right, might faint in front of him while he’s freaking out, wondering WTF. XD // Houndstock must’ve been fun. ^^;; Hehe, the sumo looks exciting. =D

    LMAO, if I go next year, that is a HUGE if, I’m definitely going to go stalk SJ (hopefully they will be there). I’ve been a good girl for way too long, need to let myself loose once and do something that I would never do. Haha, how sad, stalking Korean singers is my definition of “dangeorous” and “exciting” XDDD
