I finished my one and only final as a senior on Thursday. NOW I’M FREE! FREE! FREE! FREE! FREE! (I thought this deserved some celebration ^^)
Now, I’m officially starting to plan for college. My mom told me to make a list of everything I’ll need for my dorm next year (just personal items for now), and after a desperate scramble and what ended up as basically asking Larissa (LJ friend) what I’ll need, I have come up with the following list: (YES, ADMIRE ME. I HAVE A LIST)
For bed:
1. extra bedding
2. awesomely cute bed sheet and pillow case
3. which probably means I’ll need a pillow
4. GINORMOUS STUFFED ANIMAL (I’m serious, I REFUSE to go to college without one.)
For bthroom:
1. Little toiletry tote
2. Towels and general shower stufff
For room:
1. Little drawer thing to put shoes in (for closet)
2. Two laundry thing…boxes…whatever they are called
3. Cart thing next to the table to put more things on (?)
4. Eating-related stuff - cups, plates, utensils, etc.
5. Blender
Clothing-wise:
1. ADORABLE PJ’s. (Will not attend college without these either.)
2. Funny/cute socks. See attached message above ^
3. More normal clothing. I refuse to wear t-shirts and sweatshirts from high school everyday like I do now =_=;;
Now, this is where you come in, tell me what I’m missing, or what I should get to make my life easier next year
And
This is just filled with win ^^

Reading your last post, yes, it’s astonishing to experience that wave of understanding, why socializing is crucial! I’m in IB, so I understand the workload and.. it’s really suffocating because you just can’t find time to ditch your computer because you need to type papers and whatnot.
Anyway, grats! What will you be majoring?
bring flip flops for the shower, and hand sanitizer so you can stay healthy and clean, kay? and bring pictures, lots of them, and postits and lots and lots of office supplies!
<3
and me.
gah. why dont i show up?
>___> ((sad)).
Congratulations on being free of school (for the time being)!
Regarding your list of stuff for your future dorm room: you’ve got some of the basics, but there are still a few things you might want to add to the list. I actually have created a series of articles on my website called “Surviving College,” and one of the articles is about what one generally needs for moving into a dorm room. Check it out here. I hope my list will help you–it is generated from my four years of experience living in college dorms.
you need quarters to do your laundry with!
heart~
ugh, stupid email, typed it wrong now I have to retype everything.
Anyways, I was saying that I’m really excited for you. I think you pretty much got everything. I have this thing with lists to where I would just make random list because it helps me remember things better. =]
Ahh… everyone always wants to decorate their dorm rooms. Haha, have fun! XP And yesh! Stuffed animals! They’re so loved! Haha, I always like that Build-a-Bear workshop. Not kidding either. XD // *pokes* What does that pic say? o.o;;
I used to not be able to sleep without a teddy bear to hug… I used to hug my pooh bear that was half my size, and then my hubby began to feel neglected… so I had to stop huggin my pooh bear. I am loving your list… hehehe, I hope it will be a smooth transition for you!!
SNACKS!!
My younger sis has lived in dorms for the past 2 years - and she cannot study/relax in her dorm without a bit of snacking (er…a drawer full of snacks actually xp) on the side.
That, and lots of water (get those large packages of water bottles at the grocery store and store them under your bed). You don’t realize how handy they come in.
Philene - I’ll be majoring in Biology, probably a minor in either Spanish or International relations concentrated on China, or perhaps both?
Tina - you showed up! And I should bring quarters.
Halley - T.T emails always do that to me.
Krazim - IT SAYS “SUPER JUNIOR”! Haha, I might just end up going to Build-a-Bear =_=;;
Destiny - haha, I wish I have a pooh bear! -goes to find one-
Jade - snacks! I’ll be attempting to not eat constantly XD
