new theme, or should I say, old theme!

Filed under Life, Site

I have honestly had enough with the slow loading speed, and I figured that a big part of the reason is my inefficient theme, so TALA! Back to the spring theme, at least until I have time to take a simple, efficient new one. Hopefully now annacircles.com loads faster (appreciate some feedback if possible -points to comment-)!

I also recently discovered that Opera (the browser) is freakishly fast. It loads 10x faster than my firefox, which is really saying something…Sad thing is, Opera isn’t compatible with a lot of things :( If only they can combine Opera and Firefox and make one powerful yet lightweight browser, and call it Opefox…or Fira (lol! Like Lulu’s second level magic in Final Fantasy X! lol I have a very sad life.)

And, Final Fantasy X is back in my life! I’ve never actually finished the game and always regretted it, so I’m playing it again! I’ve always gotten caught up in the leveling up part and doing all the sidequests instead of actually getting on with the game (seriously, Lulu’s ultimate weapon thing, avoid 200 lightening bolts - WTF?!?!?! And Tidus’ chocobo racing thing…it’s just purely impossible for me), but this time I shall finish!

Other than video games, life is moving on splendidly. I don’t have to work anymore after this week at a job that I really really dislike; I’m going to take a summer workshop that starts next week (excited! science in the summer!); and I’ve already had all these plans on where to go shopping in China (lol! In addition to the many awesome, Terina -points to Xiao Star- is also in Dalian and has already found Super Junior posters for both of us XDXD).

I want to keep a travel log sort of thing during the half a month time in China, except I know that annacircles.com is blocked by the Chinese server for some reason (T.T, what did I do wrong?!), so perhaps I’ll be getting a blogspot and writing on there? Suggestions anyone?

    OMG! My site is blocked in China, too. =_= I don’t think it’s that we did anything wrong … cuz I have never once mentioned the Chinese government on my blog. I think China just banned a string of IPs and ours happened to be included in it. Bummer. ==

    Man, you lucky bum, I wish I could go back to China this year too! XD This is the second summer in which I’ve stayed in Canada. Which is nice, and all, but the shopping here is just not the same *shakes head* XD

    Ehh? Your site’s been blocked? WTH! O_O But the chinese government blocks many sites I think, don’t express your own opinion, is what they want you to do haha xD *stabs*
    FINAL FANTASY X! I know what you’re talking about!!! I played it with my friend together and the thunder mini game was horrible but the music was kinda relaxing so it was okay, but still, argggh xDD Oh and I remember the chocobo game @__@ I’m currently playing FF 12 and it’s so hard to get better weapons without being killed by monsters, why am I still so weaaaaak?? DDD8
    I won’t buy sj posters but many many lovely tvxq posters and key chains and other anime/manga merchandises ¦D

    Cindy, I know! Isn’t it weird? I even contacted my host and asked, but they said they can’t do anything about it :( :( I’m so so so very very very excited! It’s my first time back after all these years - wonder if I can still remember the city well. Which part of China did you come from?

    Yina, GAH! Stupid thunder game! Good that I’m not quite that far yet, but I remember the pain it gave -cries- I have FFXII but haven’t played yet! LOL I heart leveling up, seriously, I would just sit there for three hours leveling up for fun XDXD Oh the thrill when your character becomes stronger (:

    I was never much of a Final Fantasy gamer. However, when I was little I really liked Final Fantasy 7. Not much of the game itself but the movie and the “love story”. I thought the girl was soooo pretty. lol.

    I’m glad life is treating you well. Have fun in China and keep cool!

    Ooo~ I LOVE FF, especially 7 and 12. 8 not bad too. How I wish they’ll be coming out again for PS2. T_T I miss most of the PS1 games. T_T

    Anyway, can’t wait to see your new layout. =]
    And mine too.. sigh. If I’ve got the time. T_T

    Halley, the movie as in the really well-made animation FFVII movie that came out a few years ago? Because I absolutely love that one. And the story was so sweet. I am some day going to play 7, just after I finish all the games I have right now, lol

    Faye, I am yet to play 12! and 7 for that matter. and 8…lol, I don’t play games much, the only video game I’ve ever played was FFX and I still haven’t finished (lol @ self). I wish they would make a PS2 version of FF7 instead of PS3! I can’t afford a new game counsel that costs $300.

    How did you figure out how to get the comments to work? I could never do that correctly D;

    Hmm, I know China blocks blog providers such as blogspot.com and wordpress.com but I never knew that they actually went to the extent of blocking out personal sites as well?!?

    Anyway, there are anonymizers online that allow anonymous surfing so perhaps you can try using one of those to blog while you are there? Still, it can be quite a hassle. (I’ve tried it before, not a particularly good experience.)

    I haven’t used Opera before because I’m still a proud advocate of Firefox. But I’ve heard of its several good points. You’re right though - it’ll be great if both browsers merged! :P

    How do you know if they’ve blocked you?

    Brenda, blogspot is blocked as well? T___T Perhaps I’ll just email myself or something and put all my entries into one giant post when I come back XD

    Skye, my friends in China tested it for me, none could access it. And there’s a site that tells you if your site is blocked, they do a test run.

    FFX is a game I’ve always wanted to play. I really should get it some time XD;;

    I like keeping a travel log too. I usually end up not having internet when I travel though, so I just write it down on paper first ^^;; Have you tried proxies or VPN for accessing sites in China? I’ve heard those work well for getting past the blocking problem.

    Use a proxy *coughcough* It’s not illegal :)
    My firefox crashes lately, which is weird, and it refuses to start up when my TwitterFox decides to become a beatch.
    Ooooh! Fira is rawrrrr~ xD I love Opera’s speed too, but then I also love FF <3
